Frequently Asked Questions
Question :
My PC does not recognise the VPP Pedalset. What Can I do to solve this?
Answer :
If you are using a mainboard with Nvidia nForce chipset, please disconnect the USB-controller and reconnect it again. This problem is known and it is caused by the nVidia chipset. Chipsets by Intel or VIA for instance are not affected.
Don't worry, former calibration settings will not be lost.
Another solution would be the installation of an USB-PCI-card.
Question:
What dimensions do the pedalsets have? Is there a diffenrence between 2- and 3-pedalversion?
Answer:
Our pedalsets (2- and 3-pedal-version are exactly the same) have the following extensions:
Depth: aprox. 60cm (with heelrest and fins)
Height: apox. 38cm
Width: aprox. 33cm (including fins)
Question:
I can't calibrate the axis. Calibration seems to get lost after some time. How do I solve this?
Answer:
There can be several reasons for this behaviour:
Do not overclock your system. If you do it, please make sure to do it mildly. Please make sure to use the newest drivers for your USB-chipset.
Make sure not to connect your pedals with a USB-HUB
If the above all failed, you will have to change the USB Port.
Question:
In Richard Burns Rally the acceleration axis appears to be inverted. (full throttle when pedal isn't pressed) – How do I fix this?
Answer:
Please install patch 1.02.
Search for file "input.ini" and change the following value:
InvertBrakeAxis = true
Question:
I cannot calibrate the VPP pedal set nor assign the axis ingame. How to make this possible?
Answer:
Usually the cause of this problem is a too small spring pre-loading. To solve this please turn the lower pedal travel determination screw (can be attained by the rear wall) clockwise. Just a little turn will be enough. Then assign the similar axis.
Alternatively use the software "DXTweak" (linked under Servicecenter ), in order to increase the RAW values at the lower point and decrease them at the upper point.
Question:
Is it possible to connect the VPP pedalsets to existing wheels?
Answer:
VPP pedalsets can be connected to existing wheels (Logitech DFP only) with an adaptor-cable. Alternatively the VPP pedalsets are connected directly to the computer through the USB interface.
Question:
Do I have to order the adaptor seperately?
Answer:
No. The adaptor package, consisting both the cable and a D-Sub-socket, are included in the VPP Pedalset Professional and don't have to be ordered seperately.
Question:
Does the 2-pedal-set connect through the adaptor-cable or the USB-interface?
Answer:
The 2-pedal-set is operated as a standalone-device using our USB-interface
Optionally the 2-pedalset can be connected with an adaptor-cable to existing wheels (Logitech DFP), using their electronics.
Question:
Is it possible to connect the 3-pedal-set with adaptor-cable or do I have to use the USB-interface?
Answer:
The 3-pedal-set connects only through the USB-interace, otherwise the clutch would not be working.
Question:
Is there software included with the VPP pedals, like a driver, or does Windows detect the controller automaticaly via the USB connection ?
Answer:
Our VPP Pedalset Professional is detected automatically by Windows (compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP). You just have to calibrate the axis through the Windows gamecontroller setup.
Question:
Is it possible to use the VPP Professional Pedalset on MAC OS as well?
Antwort:
Yes, our pedalsets are working on PC and and should work on MAC as well as the generic HID-drivers were used. Therefore a usage on MACs should be no problem Note: this is not tested by VPP
